Washington, D.C. — On Friday, March 8, the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR) will make its South by Southwest Conference & Festival (SXSW) debut. ORR’s Together Outdoors program, in coordination with the Michigan Outdoor Recreation Industry Office, will be featured as part of Outdoor Day at Midwest House, an experiential embassy dedicated to the region’s innovators and creatives, on Rainey Street in downtown Austin, Texas.

Outdoor Day at Midwest House will include a full day of programming showcasing the outdoor recreation industry and feature global brands, thought leaders, investors, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

ORR Senior Program Director and Together Outdoors Lead Ambreen Tariq will speak from 3PM to 4PM on a panel presented by ORR’s Together Outdoors titled, “Building an Outdoors Where We All Can Thrive,” along with Lesford Duncan of the Outdoor Foundation, Alex Bailey of Black Outside, and Stacy Bare of Friends of Grand Rapids Parks.

“As the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR) makes its debut at SXSW during Outdoor Day at Midwest House, it’s a momentous opportunity to bridge the gap between innovation, creativity, and inclusivity in the outdoors,” said Ambreen Tariq, ORR Senior Program Director and Together Outdoors Lead. “I’m thrilled to join forces with outdoor industry innovators and powerhouses like Lesford Duncan, Alex Bailey, and Stacy Bare to delve into new ideas and innovations around transforming outdoor spaces and experiences to be welcoming for all.”

Outdoor Day at Midwest House will take place at 75-1/2 Rainey Street on Friday, March 8, from 12 to 6 p.m. The full Midwest House schedule at SXSW is available at www.midwesthouse.org
