Washington, D.C. — Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR) welcomes the Administration’s call to expand access and resources for recreation and sign the America the Beautiful Act into law. Last night, at a White House Rose Garden Dinner, President Trump signed two outdoor recreation Executive Orders: Restoring American Saltwater Angling and Recreation and Reinvigorating America’s Hunting Heritage. In his remarks, the President highlighted the success of the Great American Outdoors Act, first passed in 2020 and introduced in 2026 as the America the Beautiful Act.
“ORR is pleased by the Trump Administration’s focus on recreation and support of the Great American Outdoors Act,” said ORR President Jessica Turner. “Outdoor recreation is a driving force in our nation’s economy, contributing $1.3 trillion each year. Increasing access to public lands and waters and improving recreation infrastructure is essential for maintaining this economic contribution and ensuring that sportsmen and sportswomen can enjoy outdoor recreation for years to come. We look forward to helping achieve the President’s goal of signing the second iteration of the bill, the America the Beautiful Act, into law by the end of the year.”
The bipartisan America the Beautiful Act would continue and strengthen the work of the Great American Outdoors Act. Every day, outdoor recreation on federal lands and waters generates $351 million in economic activity and supports over 5 million jobs a year. Passing this legislation is a high-return investment in our nation’s economic growth and the health and wellbeing of all Americans.
“In my first term, I was proud to sign the Great American Outdoors Act, the single largest investment in our nation’s national parks and public lands in American history,” said President Trump. “That’s the biggest investment in American history. And I look forward to signing the Great American Outdoors Act 2. So that’s 2.0 at some point in the very near future. We’re working out the final details.”
