ORR hosted a first-of-its-kind National Executive Forum on Health and Outdoor Recreation May 6-7 2026 in Washington, D.C. This invite-only Forum united leading outdoor recreation CEOs with CEOs from healthcare, experts on physical and mental health, wellness, and social vitality and state and national policy makers. Drawing on evidence-based research and lessons from the U.S. and abroad, the convening charted a forward–looking agenda for harnessing outdoor recreation as a solution to the nation’s pressing health challenges. From lowering health care costs to improving mental resilience, gut health, reducing rates of diseases like obesity and diabetes, and enhancing overall well-being, it’s time to elevate the $1.3 trillion outdoor recreation economy as part of the solution and ensure its benefits are central to the national dialogue on health and wellness.
The Forum kicked off with a Yoga Activation on the National Mall sponsored and produced by lululemon, where attendees grounded themselves in the health and outdoor recreation opportunity before us in the shadow of the Washington Monument.
